Watchsmithing at the bench

Our Services

Three services,
done properly.

Springhaus offers a focused range of watch services — each one developed around a specific technical need rather than constructed as a menu item to fill out a list.

Our Service Approach

Each Springhaus service follows a structured process: initial assessment, communication with the client, the work itself, testing, and documentation. The sequence is the same regardless of service type. What changes is the technical content of each stage. We don't accept work we're not positioned to complete well — and we communicate clearly at every step.

1

Assessment

The watch is examined and its condition noted before any service begins. Findings are communicated to the client.

2

Service & Testing

The agreed service is performed and verified against appropriate technical standards — timing tests, pressure tests, or condition checks as relevant.

3

Documentation

A written record of the work performed and test results is prepared and provided to the client at collection or delivery.

Automatic watch movement
Service 01

Automatic Movement Reconditioning

MYR 1,850  ·  10–14 working days

A thorough overhaul for self-winding watches experiencing reduced power reserve, inconsistent timekeeping, or rotor noise. The movement is fully disassembled, every component inspected under magnification, and cleaned using an ultrasonic system with watchmaking-grade solutions. The automatic module and going train receive individual attention. The mainspring is evaluated — replaced if fatigued — and the rotor bearing inspected for wear. Reassembly uses fresh lubricants applied at calibrated quantities to each friction point. Regulation follows across six positions to bring the movement within ±10 seconds per day under normal wearing conditions.

Included in this service:

Full movement disassembly and component inspection
Ultrasonic cleaning with watchmaking-grade solution
Rotor bearing inspection and mainspring evaluation
Fresh lubrication at all specified friction points
Six-position timing regulation (±10 s/day target)
Written service record on completion

Service 02

Water Resistance Restoration

MYR 580  ·  3–5 working days

Water resistance is not a permanent attribute. Gaskets harden and contract over time, and exposure to sunscreen, chlorine, and salt water — common in Malaysia — accelerates this process. This service replaces all case back and crown gaskets, inspects the crystal seat for integrity, and conducts both a dry vacuum test and a wet pressure test at the watch's original rated depth. A water resistance certificate documenting the test method and result is issued on completion. This service is particularly worthwhile for sport and dive watches used in tropical and coastal conditions.

Included in this service:

Full replacement of case back and crown gaskets
Crystal seat inspection for seal integrity
Dry vacuum test (Bergeon or equivalent apparatus)
Wet pressure test at rated depth
Water resistance certificate on completion

Vintage Watch Consultation

MYR 450  ·  45–60 minutes by appointment

Many vintage and inherited watches arrive at Springhaus without clear histories. Their owners want to understand what they have — its condition, its likely origin, and what, if anything, should be done. The consultation is a sit-down session designed to answer those questions without opening the movement. We examine the case, dial, hands, crown, and crystal externally. We identify the movement calibre where reference information allows. We make notes on originality, replacement parts, and wear consistent with age. The session typically runs 45–60 minutes and concludes with a written summary you take away — a record of the watch as assessed on that date.

Included in this session:

External condition assessment (case, dial, hands, crystal, crown)
Movement calibre identification via caseback inspection or reference
Authenticity and originality notes
Service need assessment and recommendations
Written summary report to take away
No disassembly — originality is preserved
