1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
- "Springhaus", "we", "our", "us" refers to the watch repair and maintenance studio operating at 33 Jalan Laksamana, 75000 Melaka, Malaysia.
- "Client" or "you" refers to any individual who enquires about, books, or receives a service from Springhaus.
- "Service" refers to any of the watch-related services offered by Springhaus, including automatic movement reconditioning, water resistance restoration, and vintage watch consultation.
- "Agreement" refers to these Terms and Conditions as accepted by the client when submitting an enquiry or proceeding with a service.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry via our website, by telephone, or in person, and by proceeding with a service, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all services provided by Springhaus.
You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a service agreement to use our services.
3. Service Description
Springhaus provides three defined watch services:
- Automatic Movement Reconditioning (MYR 1,850): Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, lubrication, reassembly, and six-position regulation of automatic mechanical watch movements. Turnaround: 10–14 working days.
- Water Resistance Restoration (MYR 580): Replacement of case back and crown gaskets, crystal seat inspection, vacuum and pressure testing, and issuance of a water resistance certificate. Turnaround: 3–5 working days.
- Vintage Watch Consultation (MYR 450): A 45–60 minute assessment session including external condition review, movement identification, authenticity notes, and a written summary report. No disassembly involved.
Services are available to clients in Malaysia. We accept watches sent by registered courier from other locations at the client's risk and expense.
4. Enquiry and Booking Process
An enquiry does not constitute a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed only when Springhaus has assessed the watch (in person or remotely) and communicated a service scope and price in writing, and the client has confirmed agreement to proceed.
For vintage consultations, appointments are scheduled in advance. Rescheduling requires at least 24 hours' notice.
5. Pricing and Payment
Service prices are as listed and are fixed. All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and include applicable taxes.
Where parts beyond those included in the standard service are required (e.g., replacement mainspring or crown gaskets of non-standard size), the additional cost will be communicated and agreed before the work proceeds. No additional charges are incurred without client consent.
Payment is due upon collection or delivery of the watch. Accepted payment methods will be communicated at time of booking. The consultation fee is due at the time of the session.
6. Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the watch, including any known service history, prior repairs, or modifications.
- Disclosing any known fragility, pre-existing damage, or missing parts before the service begins.
- Collecting or arranging collection of the watch within 30 days of completion notice. Springhaus is not responsible for watches left uncollected beyond this period.
- Ensuring the watch is adequately insured and packaged if sent by post.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Springhaus website — including text, imagery, and documentation — is the property of Springhaus. You may not reproduce or distribute any content without our written consent.
Service documentation and written summaries issued to clients are for the client's personal use and reference only.
8. Workmanship Coverage
Springhaus stands behind the quality of its work. If a fault directly attributable to our service work arises within 12 months of the service completion date, we will address it at no additional cost to the client.
This workmanship coverage does not apply to:
- Damage from accidental impact, water ingress after the water resistance service period, or misuse.
- Normal wear, including lubricant degradation from daily use over time.
- Modifications or additional work carried out by third parties after our service.
- Pre-existing conditions disclosed or noted at intake.
9. Disclaimers
Watch servicing involves inherent risks with aged or fragile components. While Springhaus takes every reasonable precaution, we cannot guarantee that the movement of a vintage or heavily worn watch will function without failure after servicing. In such cases, we will communicate findings and discuss options transparently.
Services are provided on an "as assessed" basis. Written summaries from the vintage consultation represent our professional assessment based on external observation and available reference information; they do not constitute a valuation, authentication certificate, or legal document.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Springhaus's liability in connection with any service is limited to the amount paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from a service, including but not limited to loss of sentimental value, loss of use, or any third-party costs.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate a service agreement prior to the commencement of technical work. Where work has already commenced, Springhaus may charge for the portion of work completed. Upon termination, the watch will be returned in its current condition.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from a service provided will first be addressed through direct communication with Springhaus. If resolution is not reached, parties may refer the matter to mediation or, if necessary, the courts of Malaysia.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services following notification of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
